Ingredients
  

  • 1 burger bun (toasted)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 breakfast sausage patty or bacon strips
  • 1 slice of cheddar cheese
  • 1 hash brown patty (optional)
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: avocado slices, sautéed onions, spinach, hot sauce, ketchup

Instructions
 

Prepare The Meat

  • Cook the sausage patty or bacon in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Remove and set aside.

Cook The Hash Brown (If Using)

  • In the same skillet or oven, cook the hash brown according to package instructions or until golden and crispy. Set aside.

Fry The Egg:

  • Add a bit of butter or oil to the skillet. Crack the egg and cook it sunny-side up or over-easy, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook until the white is set but the yolk remains runny.

Toast The Bun

  • While the egg is cooking, lightly toast the burger bun on a dry skillet or in a toaster until golden.

Assemble The Burger

  • Place the bottom half of the toasted bun on a plate.
  • Layer with the sausage patty or bacon.
  • Add the hash brown, if using.
  • Place the slice of cheddar cheese on top so it melts slightly from the heat.
  • Gently place the fried egg on top.
  • Add any optional toppings or sauces you like.
  • Top with the other half of the bun.

Serve

  • Serve hot with coffee, orange juice, or your favorite breakfast beverage.
