Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven
    to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a loaf pan or 8-inch round cake pan.
  • Cream butter & sugar
    In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs
    Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
  • Mix dry ingredients
    In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Combine
    Gradually fold dry ingredients into the butter mixture, alternating with milk, starting and ending with flour. Mix gently until just combined.
  • Bake
    Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool & Serve
    Let cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
