Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup milk (or any plant-based alternative)
  • 2 black tea bags (or 2 tsp loose black tea)
  • 2–3 whole cloves
  • 1–2 cardamom pods (crushed)
  • 1 small cinnamon stick (or ½ tsp ground cinnamon)
  • ½ inch fresh ginger (sliced or grated)
  • 1–2 black peppercorns (optional, for spice)
  • 1–2 tsp sugar, honey, or sweetener (adjust to taste)

Instructions
 

Boil The Spices:

  • In a saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and peppercorns. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes to extract the flavors.

Add Tea:

  • Add the black tea bags or loose tea to the simmering water. Let steep for 3–5 minutes, depending on how strong you want your chai.

Add Milk And Sweetener:

  • Pour in the milk and add your preferred sweetener. Bring the mixture back to a gentle boil.

Strain And Serve:

  • Strain the chai into cups using a fine mesh strainer. Discard the spices and tea leaves or bags.

Enjoy:

  • Serve hot and enjoy your warm, spiced chai latte.
