- 2 ½ cups (315 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (100 g) sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup (180 ml) warm milk
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- Oil (for frying)
- Optional: powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or glaze for topping
Prepare The Dough
In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 tsp sugar. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
In another bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add yeast mixture, egg, butter, and vanilla.
Knead for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Shape Donuts
Roll dough to about ½ inch thickness.
Cut out donut shapes using a donut cutter or two round cutters (one large, one small for the hole).
