For The Filling (Example: Pork & Veggie)

  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Cooking

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for pan-frying)
  • ½ cup water (for steaming in pan)

Instructions

Make The Dough

  • In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
  • Gradually add warm water while stirring until a dough forms.
  • Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover and rest for 30 minutes.

Prepare The Filling

  • In another bowl, combine ground meat (or tofu), cabbage, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix well until evenly combined.

Shape The Dumplings

  • Divide dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
  • Roll each ball into a thin circle.
  • Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center.
  • Fold in half and pinch edges to seal (pleat if desired).

Cook The Dumplings

  • Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add dumplings in a single layer and cook until bottoms turn golden (about 2–3 minutes).
  • Add ½ cup water to the pan, cover with a lid, and steam for 5–6 minutes until water evaporates.
  • Uncover and let the bottoms crisp again for 1–2 minutes.

Serve

  • Serve hot with soy sauce, vinegar, or chili oil for dipping.
