For The Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm water
For The Filling (Example: Pork & Veggie)
- 250 g (½ lb) ground pork (or chicken, beef, or tofu)
- 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
For Cooking
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for pan-frying)
- ½ cup water (for steaming in pan)
Make The Dough
In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
Gradually add warm water while stirring until a dough forms.
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
Prepare The Filling
In another bowl, combine ground meat (or tofu), cabbage, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Mix well until evenly combined.
Shape The Dumplings
Divide dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
Roll each ball into a thin circle.
Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center.
Fold in half and pinch edges to seal (pleat if desired).
Cook The Dumplings
Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add dumplings in a single layer and cook until bottoms turn golden (about 2–3 minutes).
Add ½ cup water to the pan, cover with a lid, and steam for 5–6 minutes until water evaporates.
Uncover and let the bottoms crisp again for 1–2 minutes.
