Tartlets are bite-sized, elegant, and often served as appetizers, desserts, or party snacks.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2–4 tbsp cold water
  • Pie filling of choice (apple, pumpkin, meat, etc.)

Instructions
 

  • Make the crust
    Mix flour, salt, and butter until coarse crumbs form. Add cold water gradually until dough comes together.
  • Chill
    Divide dough in half, wrap, and refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Roll & assemble
    Roll out one half for the base, place in a pie dish, add filling, and cover with second rolled dough or lattice strips.
  • Seal & vent
    Pinch edges and cut slits for steam to escape.
  • Bake
    Brush with egg wash and bake at 190°C (375°F) for 40–50 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool
    Let rest before slicing to set the filling.
