Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup quinoa
  • 2 cups water or vegetable broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (optional)

Instructions
 

Rinse The Quinoa:

  • Place the quinoa in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse it under cold water for about 30 seconds. This removes the natural coating (saponin), which can make it taste bitter.

Boil The Liquid:

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water or broth to a boil.

Add Quinoa And Cook:

  • Stir in the rinsed quinoa and add salt if desired. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until all the liquid is absorbed.

Let It Rest:

  • Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes. This allows the quinoa to steam and become fluffy.

Fluff And Serve:

  • Use a fork to fluff the quinoa. Add olive oil or butter for extra flavor if desired.
