Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Cooked pasta, rice, or crusty bread (optional, for serving)

Instructions
 

  • Prepare shrimp – Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Cook shrimp – In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp butter + 2 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and just opaque. Remove to a plate.
  • Make garlic sauce – In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Deglaze – Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth), scraping up browned bits. Let simmer 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  • Add flavor – Stir in lemon juice and red pepper flakes. Taste and season with more salt/pepper if needed.
  • Return shrimp – Add shrimp back to skillet, toss to coat in sauce, and cook for 1 minute more.
  • Finish – Sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
