- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup dry white wine (or chicken broth)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
- Cooked pasta, rice, or crusty bread (optional, for serving)
Prepare shrimp – Pat shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Cook shrimp – In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp butter + 2 tbsp olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and just opaque. Remove to a plate.
Make garlic sauce – In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Deglaze – Pour in the white wine (or chicken broth), scraping up browned bits. Let simmer 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
Add flavor – Stir in lemon juice and red pepper flakes. Taste and season with more salt/pepper if needed.
Return shrimp – Add shrimp back to skillet, toss to coat in sauce, and cook for 1 minute more.
Finish – Sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
