For The Cake
- 1 ½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup (120ml) milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, chopped
- Optional: a few drops of pink or red food coloring (for a more vibrant color)
For The Strawberry Frosting (optional)
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
- ¼ cup (60g) strawberry puree (blended fresh strawberries)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Preheat Oven & Prepare Pans
Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make The Frosting (Optional)
Beat butter until creamy.
Add powdered sugar gradually, then mix in the strawberry puree, vanilla, and salt.
Beat until smooth and fluffy.
